JRCPF develops alliances with various academic institutions and agencies in the US and abroad to promote education and academic civic engagement. These associations reflect the diversity of educational missions of the various organizations yet keeping constant with the main mission of JRCPF to make student education meaningful by academic civic engagement.
Various universities serve as hosts for the Carter Partnership Award (JRCPA) program and/or the Carter Academic Service Entrepreneur (CASE) grant program. For example:
A university research center is housing a JRCPF Fellowship whereby a journalism student, under faculty supervision, will introduce ASL to college newspapers and organize students to conduct the CASE grant program at many schools. A university department which publishes a journal on ASL practice and scholarship within its discipline is conducting a CASE grant program. The CASE grant availability, application, evaluation and announcement will be conducted through the journal and its peer reviewers. A university student team is evaluating JRCPF's internet ASL community called ServiceBook. The project includes improving functionality and information architecture and developing promotion strategies. A university ASL research center is conducting a program evaluation of all JRCPF programs. A university is starting a new college in 2007 modeled after what they call “JRCPF Principles of Academic Civic Engagement” Other Options for developing an alliance with JRCPF:An academic institution identifies an individual who would promote the programs of JRCPF on campuses, states, country. CASE grant exchange program may be established between students of two countries. Jointly host a seminar on academic civic engagement.
