ServiceBook.org is an internet community for academic service learning where students, faculty and their community partners share project experiences, proposals for new projects, course syllabi, school-wide academic service learning programs and profiles of themselves as ASL advocates and practitioners. ServiceBook also contains the first online ASL encyclopedia, composed of articles written by students and faculty. ServiceBook is now open for the CASE grants Internet competition among students in the United States.

ServiceBook was conceived and is administered by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Foundation. Support for the initial construction of ServiceBook was provided by a grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Foundation recognizes the best community service work of university/college students, faculty and staff as they partner with community groups. This recognition is a powerful motivator, and the winners of the award provide a vivid picture of excellence for other applicants each year at Universities/colleges and states where the program is held. By applying uniform and high standards to the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Partnership Award (JRCPA) and the Carter Academic-Service Entrepreneur (CASE) grant, JRCPA and CASE recognize the best programs and student projects. They inspire others to excel and achieve the status of a Carter Certified Partnership. More information can be found at www.jrcpf.org.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation was established in 1930 “to help people help themselves through the practical application of knowledge and resources to improve their quality of life and that of future generations." To achieve the greatest impact, the Foundation targets its grants toward specific areas. These include: health; food systems and rural development; youth and education; and philanthropy and volunteerism. Within these areas, attention is given to exploring learning opportunities in leadership; information and communication technology; capitalizing on diversity; and social and economic community development. Grants are concentrated in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the southern African countries of Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe.
