Mission

The University Community Service Center fosters the development of civic-minded students by providing substantive community service opportunities through community partnerships based on mutual trust and respect.

Vision

By 2015, the University Community Service Center (UCSC) at the University of Chicago will be a national leader in facilitating experiential learning opportunities to complement academic coursework. UCSC will continue to attract diverse, articulate, motivated, and civic-minded students to participate in and lead its programs.

In 2015, UCSC will continue to connect students to community service and to develop students into service leaders. We will collaborate with faculty to support credit-bearing for service learning. UCSC will support the involvement of alumni, faculty, and staff to strengthen bridges between the University and the broader community. In 2015, UCSC will foster productive, respectful, and sustainable partnerships with community organization and leaders. UCSC's strategic location will provide an inviting atmosphere for our University constituents and community partners.
